Privacy on this website
Who is responsible?
Raffaela Züst and Silvan Truttmann are jointly responsible for personal data processed through this website. Our shared privacy contact is biascheckapp@gmail.com. You can exercise your privacy rights against either of us.
Scope
This notice covers the BiasCheck marketing website. It has no analysis input field, user accounts or payment processing. When you open the app at app.bias-check.app, the app privacy notice (in German) applies.
Hosting and security
This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. The hosting provider is Cloudflare, Inc., United States, with international infrastructure. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for further information. Technical access data, such as IP address, requested URL, time, browser and device information, is processed to deliver and secure the website. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure operation (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, where applicable). The hosting provider also applies its own technical and contractual retention rules.
Google Analytics requires your permission
On bias-check.app, we load Google Analytics only after you explicitly allow website analytics. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Ireland. Google LLC and other Google companies, particularly in the United States, may also process data. We use Analytics to understand website use statistically. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, where applicable). Without consent, we do not load the Google tag or send measurement data through it.
Data and analytics settings
After you agree, visited pages, usage times, device and browser information and cookie identifiers may be processed. Google also receives your IP address when the connection is made; Google states that for visits from the EU, Switzerland and the UK, the IP address is then deleted before it is logged. Our integration sends page URLs without query strings or fragments and does not send referrer URL content. Google signals and ad personalisation are disabled in our integration. We do not supply our own user IDs, app inputs, account data or payment data.
Retention and withdrawing consent
We store your choice locally in your browser for up to 180 days. Analytics cookies set by our integration also expire within 180 days, without renewing their lifetime on every page visit. User and event data retention in our Analytics property is set to two months, without resetting it when you return. This limit does not cover all aggregated standard reports. You can withdraw consent for future processing at any time through “Analytics settings” in the footer. We then disable collection and remove the analytics cookies set by this integration. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before you withdrew consent.
International processing and further information
Google and the hosting provider may process data internationally, including in the United States. Details about recipients, transfers and the safeguards described by each provider are available in Google’s privacy policy, the Google Analytics privacy information and the hosting information linked above.
External links and email
YouTube and Google Play are ordinary links. We do not embed videos or load store content through them. When you follow an external link, that provider’s privacy notice applies. If you email us, we process your message and contact information to respond to your request. We retain it for as long as the request and any applicable legal retention obligations require.
Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction and data portability, and object to certain processing. You can contact the relevant supervisory authority, such as the AEPD in Spain or the FDPIC in Switzerland. You can reach both of us at our shared contact address.
